track arm brace
on the back of our cars, there are 2 braces that go from driver side to passanger side. according to the shop manule they are the tracking braces. the lower one is the track bar and upper one is track bar brace.the upper one is famous for the bolt to seaze up in it and not be able to beat it out. i couldnt even press it out with a 20 ton press. cutting the bolt damages the weld as what happen on this one. I can't find after market replacments other than relocation type. they are stupid exspensive.does anyone make them. perferably with a grease zert to help lubricate this pivit point. overlook my spelling too.

The upper brace doesn't have a pivot point as I recall. It's basically little more than a cross car brace. Not sure what you'd be using a 20 ton press on that thing, for? Are you talking about the red bar in this pic, or the black C-Channel brace?

Here's an aftermarket one that requires minimal modification: https://www.swracecars.com/products/...brace-chromoly

I don't know what kind of goofery you're trying to do but there is no bushing to press out. It's just a bar held in place by bolts.
S&W has no crook in it and won't clear exhaust.

Re: track arm brace
the black brace at the top. 3 bolts fasten it to the frame on driver side. one bolt on passanger side got froze into the sleave it runs thru. I had to cut the bolt on both sides to get it out of the way to drop the tank. I tried using the press to get the remaining part of the bolt out. it's bigger on one end than the other. so it only can come out one way

Re: track arm brace
Right, the shank is stepped and will drift out only towards the bolt head. Sometimes an induction bolt heater is handy to loosen corroded parts, and safer than a flame near gas tank.
If you want to replace with a common bolt then you can ream out the hole uniform but the metal is very hard and you'll need a really good bit.

Re: track arm brace
thank you QwkTrip. I had thought about heat. other than a small torch all I have is a heat gun. I will table this one and see how well it goes getting one off one of my parts cars. if an after market only cost 100 dollars I'd go for it. but 300 is a little to high. thank you all for your help
