1 inch lowering springs

I will be installing 1" lowering springs I was just wondering if I will need to change anything else. And I would also like to know what are some descent shocks for not too much money.

Not really anything you would notice, if the shocks and struts are OK. If they are bad it will be worse, in the sence of of a bouncy ride. Some say this will increase bump steer, but I did not notice any. Shocks are like any other part of the car- you get what you pay for (most of the time).

If you don't mind me asking, what brand springs are you getting. I want to lower my camaro again but don't want it to be slammed like it was on eibach's. Thanx

Thanks for your help I still haven't decided on which brand. I'm going to get a front end rebuild kit from P.S.T I might just get the springs and shocks from them. Right now I am just waiting to save up enough money to buy them all at once It should olny take me a month or two. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I bought the suspension techniques springs. They are suppose to lower the car 1". I haven't finished with rebuilding the suspension yet so I can't tell you anything about the way the car looks, but within a week or so I should have it back on the ground.

I used eibach 1.5 springs and it was perfect with my 17's. It only lowered it about an inch though, but it sits perfect and I would not go any lower. They sell anoyher set though, that does 2 inches. is that the one you had? Iused AGX shocks, and they are great, and reletively cheap for getting adjustability on all 4 shocks and struts. 419 I think for all of them.

i'm going with the eibach sportlines (1") springs and tokiko blues all the way around (but for now only the shocks are on). i plan to run this setup on 17's front 45/zr17 rubber and 18's rear 40/zr18 rubber.

Hank,
You will want to get an alignment after you install the lowering springs. You may want to replace your isolators while you are at it. Not absolutely necessary but mine were worn and they are not expensive. You may also want to invest in lower control arm relocation brackets. Again, not absolutely necessary but you may want them if you have problems with traction after you drop her.

Hope this is helpful to you.

irocet305,
I have the eibach sportlines. Maybe they look different on Camaros but I don't understand why people think that they look 'slammed'. I still have over an inch between the tires and fenders (stock 16x8 wheel w/245/50/16's).

the 87 has a 2" drop kit.....I hated it, look cool but to damned hard to drive, rode hard as hell and even just the slightest uphill you would rub....if you live in the mountains or the foothills of them(me) don't get a 2" lowering kit.....I think I am going to get a 1" kit.

I believe I had eibach pro-kits (1.7"/1.5"). They were on the car when I bought it, and though it looked good, I smashed my exhaust system up and basically the pavement ate the front spoiler. I originally had 245-50-16's on the front w/ 285-40-17's on the back. Now I know the combo of the rake and the springs did'nt help my cause, so I put 17" rims in front w/265/40's and it still scraped all over. I put factory springs in for now until I can find springs that give me .75 to 1' of drop all around. That's it, because with the 17's that's all the gap is between the tire and the fender. I appreciate the positive feedback and I'll probably give the suspension techniques a try. And by the way anyone want to by some eibach's w/ 3000 miles on them?
