Steering box upgrade

I have a 91' RS with 16" wheels and according to the RPO codes the firm ride/handling suspension. I want to upgrade my steering box and was wondering if a WS-6 or IROC steering box would be a good upgrade for my car?

the steering box is a good upgrade to put. Much faster in accounts of steering. So for me that would help. Much easier to drift. I plan to put one soon...

Do airbag and non-airbag cars use the same box?

I was told that a steering box from a WS6 was better than anything that ever came on a Camaro. When the box on my 84 Z started leaking really bad, I put in a WS6 box off of a Formula. It feels quicker than my old box.

they are the samedamned thing..... I think the high effort(is that what GM called them??high ratio?) only started in 85 with the IROCs....i dunno tho but the WS6 has the same damned thing...maybe it just was in better condtion.

RSRagtop,

Count the number of turns lock to lock. The quick ratio boxes are 2.25 and the normal ones are 2.5. I'm inclined to think you have the quick ratio one because they came with stops to keep the wider tires on 16" wheels from rubbing. Did it come with 245mm wide tires stock? If it did I bet you've got the good box.
