I have KYB's all around. GR-2's up front and Gas-a-just in rear. I got them from tirerack.com. When I replaced my stock ones, the car had about 160,000 miles. I am not 100% sure, but I think the ones I removed were originals. They were very bad, almost no charge to them. I have been very pleased with the KYB;s so far. They ride good but at the same time they have a good feel. I love the way the fell. I love the way the car drives and handles now too. I can tell you this much, my friend recently got a 1993 Mustang GT, and he is faster than me, until the road curves.......... then its over for him. He will admit that I can out handle him. Another story, I have a friend with a 99 Cobra, and he was driving my car in St. Louis, and he was very impressed because he could take the ramps with the same speed as his Cobra, and it has independent rear suspension. So all in all, I think they are a good choice for someone with a tight budget, but if you have the money, go with Bilsteins or Konis, they are a much better part. KYB's are more than sufficient for the street. The KYB's are a great part for their price. I am not sure about you, but I am a college student right now and it is hard enough the way it is, let alone trying to afford Koni's. Maybe someday, but I went with the KYB's for now, because they are a very nice part for the price, and I love them. I would recommend them, I am sure there are going to be others with input on this subject too, I have noticed a lot of people on here using them. Good luck.

I have them and like them.I noticed a difference right away.Sure, maybe not as nice as the Koni's,but you can't beat em for the price.I have the GR-2's around the car with a set of Eibachs.

I have KYB AGX shocks and struts, with Eibach 1" lower springs. Adjustable shocks are great. The car rides well, but at slower speeds it may be too rough for some people. I think it's great though.

KYB's are all right, if your a woman. Only kidding. I origianly replaced my stock with KYBs and it was an improvement over the stock, little stiffer. For the price they are a very good shock. I replaced my front KYB struts with Bilsteins and these are a whole lot stiffer but of course the less enjoyable the ride will be at times. If your looking for something that will offer a little improvement over what you have now then go with the KYB if you want a dramatic change go with Bilstein or KONI.

I have GR2's all the way around and i'm very impressed with them. They may not be the best choice for all out performance, but neither are worn out struts/shocks. For what they cost, they can't be beat.

Well I went from OEM replacement shocks/struts, to GR-2 in the front and gas-a-just's in the rear, and BOY WHAT A DIFFERENCE. I can turn quicker, go faster on rougher roads,....my exhaust hangs low and it used to hit on a lot of roads around here, doesnt do it anymore. I love them. I'll start hitting my exhaust again but now that I dont bottom out anymore i am looking into lowering my ride finally

My friend has an 89 camaro with eibach springs and koni adjustable shocks/struts all around, I drove his car while he was doing my shocks and struts for me (I'm lazy) and honestly I didnt notice any difference between mine when I got it back and his. but you have to remember his were adjustable, so he could have gone stiffer (I hope, or else I wouldnt recommend konis over KYB's)

Probably looking anywhere from about $100-$150 depending on the shop.

Great Shocks& Struts for the $$

Replaced Gabriel's about a month ago w/ KYB's and I really like them. Ride is stiffer and it handles much better now.

KYB GR-2s all around as well as KYB strut mounts,Eibach pro-kit,PST frontend rebuild kit,Hotchkis rear LCAs and pan-rod,16x8"IROC wheels w/245/50/16 tires. remember, the springs and shocks work together,so your wasting your time and $$ if you don't do both at once. the Hotckis greasable rear end kit and PST polygraphite bushings got rid of that "squirelly" feel at all speeds and don't sqeek at all!now if I can just get rid of the play in my junk rebuilt steering gearbox!!

I'd say my car will outhandle most newer cars costing up to $40k

You can get rid of the play in the gearbiox with the bolt and lock nut on top of the gearbox, but the factory does not recommend it. You should set it with a torque wrench while it's off of the car, but can be done while on the car f you are a daring type. If your whole front nd is redone, loosen the lock nut and tighten the allen head bolt about a 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn at a time, each time seeing if it's too tight. If the steering becomes difficult or the wheel will not return to almost strait while driving, it's too tight. Remenber though this is not the recommended procedure, and a little too tight can ruin the box quicker.

i'll also reccomend the KYB's, have GR2's in the front and Gas-A-Just in the rear. I re-did the whole front at once, car had 87k miles w/ stock suspension....needles to say the struts and ball joints were loose as hell. replaced springs w/ stock Moogs. anyway, it handles great now! front end is stiff as hell, takes turns real nice though! rides rough at all speeds, but i really dont mind it, may have a lot to do w/ the springs as well. like others have said, the KYB's are a nice budget choice, definitely perform well for the $$!

good handling,smooth ride...

I did my whole suspension and have experienced a better ride ,smoother handling,no bottoming out or wiggling over speed bumps. i can see no reason to use stock components, they're not even any cheaper!!

isn't there an adjustment on the rear of the steering box where the shaft conects to it too?

Excellent shocks/struts for the money.
Sure, Koni's and Bilsteins are better, but for the money, you can't beat the KYB's
Have them on two of my three cars.

Yep i agree with everyone on KYB are best bang for buck shocks. I have AGX's on all 4 corners of my '89 along with Eibach pro-kit. I installed it all at the same time. And the car drove like it was on rails. good shocks period!!

Now what about daily comfort though?? There are times when I just want to drive, not canyon carve....So how is the GR-2/Gas-a-Just setups for daily driving??? Or do I need to go AGX all the way around?? I plan on keeping the car at stock height, just haven't decided if I should go with the Moog springs or just keep the originals.
