Requirements for 17" wheels?

Hello all,

Are 17" wheels complete bolt-ons or do I need to change something in the suspension at the same time?

Will they work with lowered springs?

I just never thought of this stuff. I might use 17" wheels with the stock suspension or I might want to lower it a bit and I need to know what I'll need.

I do have Koni yellow shocks/struts that I might install.

Thanks.

depends if you are talking about factory 17" wheels off a corvette or f-body or aftermarket wheels. but a 17x9.5 wheel with 5.5" backspacing will fit all the way around with 275/40-17 tires. on the front you will need to grind a little off the tie rods to clear.

I suggest that you get your 17" wheel/tire combo installed BEFORE you start doing anything to your ride height

quick inquiry...Anybody know of a dealer that one could order larger versions of our original wheels. I want a lil more rigidity and style and i really like the way 17"s make the car feel and look but i've surfed through mag and site alike and haven't found anything i'm in love with . I do however really like the wheels that came stock on my 85 Z28 and was wondering if anybody know's of anything that could help. Thanks peeps take her easy...and if she's easy take her twice hahaha

www.performancewheeloutlet.com makes the 85-87 iroc-z wheel up to 18". 17x8" chrome is $1075/set or polished for $799/set.
