LCAs too rough for street?
LCAs too rough for street?
I've read quite a few times that stronger LCAs with polyeurethane or polygraphite bushings will increase vibrations and squeeks. Is it worth it without a big hp motor? What about the relocation brackets?

I have the Lakewoods with poly. No complaints here. I also have the Spohn LCA reloc brackets - IMHO they are the single biggest bang-for-the-buck rear suspension mod. They made a HUGE difference. Again, no ride complaints.
i have the kenny brown lower control arms which are the best out there; they are as affordable as any other set an come designed perfectly; i don't have any of the described problems as well as i don't need relocation brackets either.
i also have the rest of my suspension upgraded an moded, it was the best overall thing i've done to the car to improve driveability. my engine is completely stock, but i'm still in the 12's partly because of the suspension. :hail:

I have the Moog replacement springs with the highest rate and lowest installed height. So this car is lower than it was, but it's still at the stock height for some other cars.
I don't cut springs.
There's no way that control arms alone will rectify the faulty design of the rear suspension of these cars. The problem is that the rear end of the LCA is higher than the front end; so when there's lots of force trying to move the car forward, the rear end is forced to attempt to rotate upwards. This is what causes the wheel hop that these cars all have. Even if you think you don't have wheel hop, you won't believe how much difference it makes to get rid of it.
When I had a 400 with big heads, big roller cam, 800 CFM carb, etc. in this car, I thought I had it hooking up pretty good too... until I put those brackets in there. I discovered what I had been missing.
