WTF?? Global West Steering brace bolt holes don't match sway bar bracket holes!
My global west steering brace is making me mad. Both front mounting holes are fine, but beyond that, well...
The driver's side rear mounting holes are offset (from the front hole) the opposite direction from the swaybar bracket hole. The passenger side would be OK except that the outside edge of the bracket contacts a bolt (on the piece of metal that the swaybar mounts to). A little grinding on the steering brace will fix the pass side problem so that's not that bad. On the driver's side, though, it looks like I am going to have to either 1) drill a new hole that will be VERY close to the incorrect hole so I will probably just end up having one long hole, or 2) fill the existing holes with weld and drill a new hole. (Is there a name for that or do you just call it weld?)
It's not that big of a deal, but when they make a part for a certain application and say it will fit, I expect it to fit.
If I am just being stupid and doing something wrong, please let me know.

WELL... mine didn't fit either flipped over or not I called them and they said "it must be the car" (82 Z28)
SOO, I send the POS back to them and bought a genuine GM "wonderbar" / steering brace, it was not as beefy as the GW unit but it FIT, and served the purpose...
since then I have had reservations about ordering there adjustable height spring spacers from them, WILL they fit??? Who know I was VERY disappointed in the brace....
ok my rant is over just my .02$

I installed a GW brace on my 91 and had no problems. Did you follow the directions it came with? There is only one way it will go, Try flipping it over if it still doesn't fit that must be a bad one that sliped past them.

I have one in front of me right now. Both the front holes and the back holes are 28 inches apart. So that should give you something to compare yours to.
Also the grooves for the bushing locaters are toed in a bit. (27 inches and 27&1/4 inches)
These things have to be modified to fit an 82 or 83 (84?) but it should fit your 91 unless maybe you've taken a hit on the front sometime or the bar is just no good.

I have one and it was confusing at first to put on. It will only fit one way. If it doesn't then you have to flip it over. I think the very first time I did it about 5 years ago I flipped it back and forth about 4 times before I realized how it fit. Now its a no brainer.
IMHO this is a great product and so much fukn better than the GM version.

It mounts so that the bar is towards the front of the car, right? I think I'm remembering right. Anyway, it fits one way and the other way it doesn't come close.
My car has never been hit so that shouldn't be a problem.
I don't think I can send the bar back though: I was fitting it and a wasp flew at me. Since it didn't really matter if I just dropped everything, I just got out from under the car as quickly as I could. Unfortunately, the bar ended up under me and it got scratched up. Oh well--I'll never see it. But as far as returning it, I'm not sure that work now, lol.
I'll just make it work and then boycott and badmouth global west in the future.

Mine didn't fit perfect because the brackets for the bushings had a little tab of metal that required that I bang flat for the bolts to start to thread. Other than that it was slip fit in but a major PITA doing it by yourself
I'll have to agree with JPrevost. I've installed them on my '91 T/A and '91 GTA, the '91 T/A I had help from my girlfriend to line it up. The tab was a tight fit in that little hole, but with some muscle and tightening up both sides gradually it fit. On the '91 GTA, this time I did it myself, and no amount of shifting or muscle could get the tab to fit. So, I pounded and pounded on it to bend it as close to a a 90 degree angle and eventually got it to fit. Without pounding, no chance in hell.
But, once its in, you'll be very happy.
Later, Dave '01 WS6 T/A, '91 GTA, '91 T/A

cort.....this is going to be very weird for you so just hold on to your seat. Is your dad DR. Craig Spellman? I go to medical school in fort worth and one of my instructors from last semester (Endocrine) showed us slides of his and his son's cars, which included 2 thirdgens (one with a Dana 44), a 66 shelby replica, a Z06, and the Fox body 'stang.
It would be kind of strange if you were indeed Spellman's son.
