ANLU Prom - WHERE/WHO?
For those working with 8746 ecms - where (or from whom) is it possible to get the ANLU prom from? It makes the difference between 305 stats and 350 running parameters as far as i can tell so whats the best way to acquire one? They can be programmed but finding someone is a trick - could it be an off-the-shelf deal too?

The chip is /was available from the dealer if you have the correct part number. I know that JPrevost has the bin on his website....i'm not sure if it has the part number there are not. You could check his site out.

ANLU Bin
Dude, unless you are running a 350 TBI with 3:42's and a car that weighs in at 3600+ lbs the ANLU bin isn't going to be your savior. It's a good start to start programming with, But i know you aren't trying to program. That's the BIN is started with, 15 chips later and counltess hours of analyzing data it runs 10 times better and is nothing like the ANLU Bin. If you are hell bent on that BIN then tell your dealer you want it. $100 for a chip that might work? It's you'r call man. Just my .02

*sigh* Listen fellas - I don't care 1 way or another WHAT it is I run in the long run as long as its best for my application. True - I can't do my own prom work - so if theres anyone out there please speak up. The 8746/ANLU idea was spawned by my talks w/Jprevost who said that would be a good starting point. However - i've yet to encounter someone with a reputation of competency that would do a chip (or someone that is willing to do it for that matter). I'm lost either way. Any ideas i'm willing to hear out.

PS - I AM running a TBI 350 with 3.73 gears (gears on the way) so like I said...i think the computer could use some work. Look at my sig. - its NOT a stock motor by any call.

Program your own eproms is the only way to be happy. Just getting the ANLU would be like a carb guy just going out and buying a bigger carb that was ment for a slightly more powerful engine! It's even worse than that because the eprom controls timing and other important operations.
It doesn't take long to learn how to burn great eproms, especially with the help of so many TBI guys on this board and the diy-eprom board. Heck, we could walk anybody through burning an eprom so long as they have spent the money on the tools and read some very informative articles that explain how an engine works and why things like the IAC are a headache blah blah blah. Right now you would think the IAC just controls the idle, that's true but it also moves when you accelorate and decel, it's a vacuum leak, and too much IAC and the fuel doesn't get atomized 'as well' as if the IAC was closed and ALL the air was having to pass by the throttle blades. Stuff like that you just pickup up on with IM conversations and this board.

That's not the point - I can't program my own stuff now (its N-O-T an option) - and thats why i've opened the topic to everyone. It doesn't matter if DIY is "the only way" to go - because its NOT the way for me - regardless of how much info you guys give, unless someone wants to give me the laptop and programs, I dont have the money or time. If anybody says "do it yourself" to me one more time I'mna scream. If nobody's willing to help - just say so - dont feed people who dont have the resources lines about how great programming is. Would you tell a poor person to buy a Mercedes if they clearly couldn't swing it?

And don't tell me its 'not that expensive' because I dont have my mommy and daddy funding this - i'm doing it on my own.

first. I think you just got your own thread closed.
Second, I wouldnt tell somebody who was poor to go buy a mercedec, i also would tell them dont try to make a mercedes out of a yugo for 100 bucks and expect it to act like a mercedes.
This is the third post ive seen recently for people begging from prom stuff etc... Its not aloud on the diy board, so its not aloud here either.
If you want a new prom, get it from a dealer, burn your own, or get it from somebody through other channels (AIM or MSN or other Websites)
