The LT1 cam is probably better for a near stock or mildly modded engine, plus they are easy to find. I doubt you'd find an LT4 cam for $50. Not sure of the TPI cam specs but most weren't that great, but I'm not sure the LT1 is worth taking the motor back apart.

unless your build a highly modded 350, go with an lt1 cam. its much more friendly yet a 1000 times better then the peanuts cam.

i would chose teh LT4 cam. it is not radically different from the LT1 cam and will only take a little more tuning to get right. the only problem i have with the stock LT4 cam is that they are not nearly as common to see used and even then they cost twice as much. gotta love the bargain power mod that an LT1 cam is, almost always under $50 shipped

later

The differance between the various LT1's and the stock LT4 is very small. I would get the one that's the lowest cost. The LT1 that NJSpeeder is using has more lift with 1.5 rockers than my LT4 cam does. The only differance is a few degrees of duration and lobe seperation. Not worth the diff to go from a around a 50ish dollar used cam to a now I beleive $180 for the LT4 stocker. Ouch.....GM has went up on this stuff

you can find them used sometimes though. even then the LT1 cam is cheaper and easier to find

A tpi cam as in an l98 cam? or non peanut lb9 cam?

if thats the case why even bother swapping to any of those other two. That would be about the biggest waste of time i could think of being that they are all very similar specs.
