non egr vortec
im going to be running a tbi'd vortec 350 (L31, all stock) and i know there is no egr provision with this engine combo. Im not sure of the CR ratio with these heads, perhapse 9:1 maybe? Anyone think I'll have problems with preignition knock? I hear some of the intakes (gm prerfomance) have provisions for a sort of backa@@ward egr system but if some of you are running these and not having much trouble ill just shoot for the non-egr edelbrock intake or something along those lines.
dimented, your going to need to burn a new chip for this setup so you might as well have the egr turned off and program your ignition curve accordingly. There are some good post on this a while back so you might do a seach on egr or no egr or something like that. I had a post saved but it will no longer come up, the page can't be found.

i very well could be wrong, but i think thats a heater-switch of some sort on the intake, not the egr (like i said - could be wrong) it just looks like the heater-core vaccuum switch in my TBI camaro.

Makes sense, thats where my friend Greg's coolant is routed on his Pro-Jection manifold.
Poo, I had a glimmer of hope for EGR, too

Well... ihear egr can be done but i think a line has to be run from the exaust manifold/headers to the intake (i believe its the GMPP one)

This would probably be decent except it's at least $100 overpriced at least to me......but it does have everything to make it work intake wise. You have to run a tube from your exh to the egr valve.
