Air Induction For a Formula

I have found a used air induction setup from a 84 TA. I would like to know if this is worth the $100 or should i go with an open element. It seems the LO3 doesnt mind the hot underhood air at all. What do youi guys think?

Just get an open element. Save your money for something better. $100 is a rip off anyway.

Youre going to tell him that a $100 for a functioning cold air setup is a rip off? Pass me whatever youre smoking... first off those things are hard to find, second from GM the whole set up is expensive, and third a friend has one, and it made a great difference in how his TBI car ran over the open element he had on it. Some of you really need to learn what in the world youre talking about. If you dont want it I might.. I can make a nice bit of cash off of it on ebay...

It is a rip off. I've seen them for $30 on ebay before. They aren't supposed to work all that great.

The problem with the system is its not the 2 piece air cleaner setup, it only has the small hole in the air cleaner. If it was a two piece i think you could use a 11 inch kn extreme lid instead of the sublid . People have told me to only go for the 2 piece. What type of lid did your friends have?
