Question about edelbrock TBI intake
Question about edelbrock TBI intake
Ok say i was to swap in a 350 soon and wanted to go with the holley 670 cfm TBI could i have the bores of the edelbrock intake bored to work with the larger bore size of the holley TBI? My uncle owns a machine shop so i figured it could easily be done.
Doubt you will actually be able to pull it off. There's water jackets sitting all around the throttle bores. Do yourself a favour, and buy a 4bbl carb intake and get a TBI adaptor. You'll make more power because you'll be increasing plenum volume, and carb intakes are much cheaper.

Edelbrock only recommends chamfering the bores.
As iroc22 said, there are passages you'll likely cut into, if you bore it straight thru. If you're going with the big throttle body, you'll be better off using the Holley manifold or a 4-bbl intake with an adapter plate.

well i went to jegs this morning and went ahead and got the intake, trans cooler, and a hypertech cool fan switch. I decided i probably wasnt going to get a bigger TBI since i dont think the combo i plan will need it. I plan on a LO5 with a mild cam with the TBI intake on top with some 350 injectors. wont be to crazy maybe 250ish HP with the right chip. then i may add alittle giggle juice

Yeah that's how I wish too. I G-teched my car as a 14.4, but that cannot be used as an accurate time (although it was a really flat test strip I used). I know how it is to be busy and not have time when the test and tunes come up. Sometimes the track schedules dont work with yours.
im having some problems with the intake now. i guess where the TBI sits further back the kickdown cable is coming off...plus im leaking coolant somewhere...hoping its not from the intake itself

You don't have a kickdown cable. The only cables that are attached to the throttle linkage are the throttle cable, the TV cable, and cruise control if you have it.
If you aren't experiencing any major driving problems, then I'll venture to say it's the cruise control.
As far as water leaking, where does it drip from?

i cant tell exactly were its leaking from yet its dark by the time it was finished. The one falling off is the sliding one. the brass one i was told its the kickdown cable. the TV cable is definetly not adjusted right im gonna do that in the morning. something is definetly not right tho.
its dripping from near the tranny bellhousing so its near the back somewhere. could be the new fan switch i installed im not positive yet. Ill figure it out in the morning
