I like to think of it as either a half-*** EFI job or simply the TBI that was too darn expensive. Accell I believe was the company that made that system and honestly it's junk. I've seen a couple guys using it at the track and they don't like it. I guess it's popularity reflects it's performance, almost like our classic TBI . Really though, it's a bunch of saturated injectors that inject fuel just below the throttle blades and so you've still got a wet-flow system. Only difference is that this one costs a lot of money. One good thing is that you can use it without having to prep an intake manifold for the injector boss'. If you figure you've spent all this money for that thing plus the cost of a new high pressure fuel pump, fuel lines, controller electronics and the such...that you'd have the money to just do it right and convert the intake manifold to dry-flow!!! That's why I call it the half-*** EFI. Almost as bad as ripping off TBI and downgrading to a carb . Ahhh, you hear that, it's my TBI going into Decel fuel cut off so I'm not wasting $$$$ on gas every year. Ahhh, and I do believe my car still has the TCC, highway mode gas and highway spark enabled for saving me even more $$$ .
Don't think about it. If you're going to go to a better EFI setup get a single plane intake, get it worked over for the port injection, slap on your adaptor plate, then a 2" gutted TB from Holley or GM, and mix it all up with a high pressure intank Walbro fuel pump and the classic 7730 GM ecm for one kick *** setup that's ready for anything you can through at it.
I'm gonna wait and go right to the next step with my car and build my own sheet metal intake manifold. I've already got the plan set, just need to make the $1000 to do the whole conversion and whatever the other costs are for head work and a new cam. Wow, that's more info than this post required.

great explanation i'm glad to hear some feed back. I thought to myself if i have never hear of it it probably is something not worthy of mentioning but you never know. I am planning to do exactly as you said get an intake have the injectors bosses machined out mount on a gutted tb and tpi ecm not sure which ecm to go with yet i havent researched much yet. I may be a good project for winter and its coming fast here.
