How much of a power and SOTP difference?

I have a 90 RS 305TBI 5 speed ....yada yada

I have an open element and thats it. I plan on doing the following list of mods all at once to get a better "one time" upgrade in performance.
Performer TBI maifold, LT1 cam, Stiffer springs, roller rockers, 3:73 posi, headers to a single 3" with a flowmater in the rear.

What kind of a difference will i get in the SOTP department and in actual horsepower (estimate)?

Thanks

prob around 55-60 hp at the flywheel increase and with the gears it would feel like a totaly different car. Youd be going from 16s in the quater mile to high 14s. Now thats a huge sotp difference.

Id say so. You're ridding yourself of the ****ty hold-me-back parts with the cam, gears, and exhaust. The intake will be worth a little. It'll be fun to see what happens with that combo on stock heads. Keep us informed.

Yeah, your getting rid of all that restrictive stuff GM put on the LO3. But u do realize you will need to modify your TBI with the ultimate tbi mods and get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, a good set of tires and possibly some LCA's.

You will be in high 14's with all of that. If your happy with high 14's. Congrats. If your not, then its time to get a bigger engine.

If u go with new heads, u gotta get a bigger tb unit and have someone or yourself burn a custom prom. And in order to get the correct prom burned ur gonna have to download that winaldl program and make yourslef an adapter cord, pull the info and then send it to the programmer and have him use that info.

I have to stay emission legal out here...man i hate that crap! I would just rather put a stroker in here and be done with it!

Im really wondering about prom burning but i have no idea what to do or where to start. Anybody got a tutorial?
Would a custom chip help me out with the mods i have planned so far?

I want to recommend the WINALDL scantool to help you tune that fuel pressure in so that you can get the most from that setup and pass emissions.

Here is a reasonable priced burner.

heads

If your really into making that car pretty quick then id sugest getting rid of some of the worst flowing heads that chevy ever made. The mods you wanna do are definatly gonna make that car run a heck of alot better but if you wanna go a little bit farther and make probably another 20 horses then you should change the heads. World Industries makes some great heads for a good price, the torquer 305 heads.....they are made for a 305 and they come assembled for about 750 bucks. The other way to go would be to either find a set of heads from a tbi truck with the vortech heads on it or even try and find some recon. vortech heads. Im curious to see what kinda results your gonna be gettin with all of this i ahve an 88 tbi camaro and im gonna be doing everything you are shortly here as soon as i come up with the cash. So good luck with it and keep me posted

Only thing is......I harldy have the $7-800 for the world products heads, and im also still puzzled by prom burning. I know id need a custom chip for sure with new heads.

Yeah......I love my car now....but i wanna be able to romp at red lights, etc.
I figure I'll have less than $1,000 in all this and itll probably be well worth it.

I already bought the intake for $85 () and the LT1 cam. Just need the other stuff and im gonna get it all done at once.

chips

So what if you dont have the money for the heads...no biggy the car can still move. But heres a nice power gain you can afford...im positive on this. For about 30 bucks...including shipping you can get a computer chip for your car with a better fuel curve and it will take out the governor in your car...even better tell him everything you plan to have done to your car and he will custom burn you a chip for under 50 dollars im sure. He custom burned me a chip which i am very impressed with and the only thing you have to do when you get the chip is to go to your auto parts store and buy a 180 thermostat and your set to go for around 50 bucks total. The name of the site is www.tbichips.com i found the site through numerous searches and he is a very knowladgble guy and if you have any questions he will reply to you within a day.

I dont have the time or money for that right now. I may do it in the future but not at the moment. I may just move back home where there is no emissions tests....then ill be ready to rock.

motor swap is much easier than a cam/head swap IMO. If I had all the tools and stuff I could have did the motor swap in no time...oh yeah and a garage would have been killer...i did my swap in my driveway.

Might be easier, but I still cant afford it........plus I dont have time to build the new engine either.
