just read the tech article on how to install the open element and you should be fine. I would just install a 180* stat, i have one in my car right now and it works great in both summer and winter conditions.

I had a 160 thermo in my car last winter....took about 25 minutes to warm up to barely get heat...about 30 minutes to get the ice off the windows at least. I have a 180 now and it works good. Id recomend a 180 and a 180* fan switch. Will work wonder.

Im running the stock cooling system on my 350 with the 180 thermo and fan switch and it still stays cool...even in traffic after driving 200 miles...very nice.

IMHO, the open element won't really add any horsepower. but, it will add a lot of sound to your car. it was like night and day when i put mine on...like i switched mufflers.

and, i would go with the hotter t-stat in the winter too.

The open element, which you get a K&N filter for will allow the car to breathe better, that straw intake it has now is no good........

It's not like it's gonna throw you back into the seat when you press the gas, but i did notice the car picked up speed better while at WOT while already moving......

It will make the response a lot more quicker. Cleans a lot of clutter out of the engine bay.
