Got my world products s/r torquer 305 heads, now what?

Ok i won an auction for s/r torquer 305's and i was wondering what the best intake would be for these heads, with an lt1 cam, and i have to pass smog in ca. I have an Edelbrock TBI Performer, will this work? would something be better?

thanks, i'm looking to see if anyone has any experience with this combo, or what you have on your s/r torquers good/bad?

thanks
mike

If you already have the Performer intake, might as well use that.

I've used the S/R Torquers before, not a bad head. Lots of extra meat for porting.

I have used the EdelbrockTBI and have no complaints with it. In fact I wish I had it on right now. I'm running a performer RPM on my S/R torquers right now and its very cold blooded. Thats probably not a problem in CA. The performer TBI will bolt right on and is probably plenty for that cam. I ran that cam and intake with stock heads and spun it to 6000 rpm all the time.

You might want to do some port work on the heads before installing them. Check out the area under the exhaust valve. The rest of the head wasn't to bad.

Thanks, for the info, would i need to portmatch the intake and head at all? I've also heard of something called "extrude honing" what is this exactly and would it be something worth doing?

thanks again fellas,
Mike

Here's their website.
http://www.extrudehone.com/ Their website has the price list on it.
You don't want to extrudehone a carb or TBI manifold or heads that is going to see street duty.

The price quote I got for the extrude honing was $325 to do an intake. So its a little pricey.

I got mine off of ebay, but checking jegs, the part number is955-042650-1 and are 318.99 each. The ones i got had 8000 miles on them and needed a set of studs, but the seller is giving me a new set with the heads. I got them for about half price so hopefully everything is ok. Anyway, why would i not want to extrude hone the heads or intake? i mean i dont have the kinda cash it would seem to take, but i was just wondering? Also the heads have stainless exhaust valves but regular intakes, any reason to do just stainless on the exhaust? When i get them i will have them onced over by a local machine shop, and may have stainless put in on the intake, any reason to do that or not?anyone from sandiego know a good place, i have heard of ed hale, but i haven't heard much else around here.

Thanks again fellas,
Mike
P.S. will i need to do any computer tuning? or should the stock tune handle it? Thanks.
