my car has 147K miles on it and it is still running strong, just do a search and you will see people with cars that are pushing the 200K mile mark.
100K isnt that bad, how much is she selling it for?

cool, thats what i was hoping to hear. i'm not real sure what she's gonna want to get out of the car. it was just repainted like a year ago and it's in good shape all around. i'm hoping around 3-4k, but i'll have to talk to her, thanks for the help
My 305 has 225,754 as of Saturday night when I pulled it into the garage. Only thing done to the engine was a timing chain, and that wasn't by necessity. Still running on the original fuel pump, too.
It does use some oil between changes, like a few quarts, but hell it still purrs.
Also had a great deal of N2O put through it. I say buy that RS now man.

Although it has been a Florida Car, which means the cooling systems has gone faster then the engine, but the TBI is very reliable and easy to fix and doesn't break down much.....(knock on wood)....
I've replaced the radiator, need a new starter, battery and fuel pump and that's about it......

184K miles and I still get 18city/24 highway out of it.
Best damn running stock V8 I've had (short of the '94 Z28 I once had).
Anything I've done to the car was little stuff. Normal wear and tear items like struts/shocks, tires, strut towers, heater control valve, and the radiator sprung a leak.
Other than that, all I've done are mods, both cosmetic and performance.

if you removed the cat i bet it smokes quite a bit due to burning oil. the cat will hide this, to a point. just a pinch of info.

My 91 RS has 200,600 miles and I've only replaced a fuel pump and a master cyl. so far. I get 24 mpg and it only uses 1/3 of a quart between 5000 mile oil changes. I also used cheapo formula shell oil ever since I got it.
hey all, first time post.
228,000 on my 92 RS (T5, 3.23). I bought it with 120K on it 4 yrs ago. I've replaced regular stuff like the alternator, water pump, heater ctl valve, etc but that's about it. I change the oil every 5-6K, and it burns about a quart btwn oil chgs. I get about 23 mpg hwy.
it's been very reliable, fun to drive, cheap... it's a Camaro. I actually found this board doing research because the fuel pump's dead right now, though. :\

I've got one on both ends of the mileage scale. see in my sig, I've got 191K on the '90 and just turned 47k on the '91. the '90 has a t-5 and I get 27mpg on hgwy and around 18 city, the '91 is an auto. I just took a 1200 mile road trip over t'giving, through some mountains with the cruise set at 78, pretty much the whole way, still averaged out to 25.5mpg. last summer on flat roads going to Fla. I averaged 29mpg with the A/C on about 1/2 the time.

my 90 has 152K, still pulls strong, i still race it, and abuse it. no smoke on startup, doesn't burn any oil, the only thing is i am losing some coolent, because my t-stat housing is warped
I kind of wish my car was a little less prestine so my dad wont get all over me for making my good car "unreliable" and "unecessarily fast or loud" Do the people in your guy's areas refer to the third gen as the "white trash" body style? Just wondering if my town is the only area that sucks.

The second gen (later years 75-81) is the "white trash" body style around here. hehe. But my nextdoor neighbor has an 81 turbo ta with the small 8 in it. It is a pile but i know i could set it up right....see even the white trash ones need tlc. Don't sweat what other people think, go your own way.
Honestly people suck. If you want a more modern muscle car there is no other option then a third gen. I dont like 4th gen styling, I love the performance. Plus the third gen looks like a beast. I know im not white trash so its ok. The trick to shutting up the idiots is blowing their imports off the road. American muscle all the way!
the same people talking the white trash smack are the same peole soon to see what our rear end looks like......face it, we live in a ***** generation and our cars will never look cool enogh to them because we dont have white stripes, white rims, a 4 cyl, and 100 hp.....undersized injectors, poor gear ratios, fuel economic slap assed slow ricers......*** i love beating the crap outta those cars......20 grand for the cars, 10 grand in mods, ....whooping their azz's in a mostly stock 305 tbi...Priceless

coming up on 164,000. I still have the org clutch, and cam. Everything I have done to the car was because I wanted to. And I have not cat and only smokes at start up. One puff, nothing more. I bought mine for $900 with 132,00 on her. I still get about 23-33 mpg on the highway depending on how I drive and wind. About 17-20 in the city. I even took down a full size Dodge. I left him at 75mph!! LOL
