Wanted Cross Fire Intake!!!!

Hi Guys. I've got a complete, but thoroughly trashed, 83 Z-28 with cross fire injection. I'm rebuilding a 350 block to swap into it, and I want to keep the cross-fire for authenticity. Problem is...my intake has problems. There are issues with stripped vacuum line holes, etc. We are also all well aware of the shortcomings with the port work in these intakes.

I'd like to get a useable cross fire intake and prep it for installation on the 350 before I put it into the car. So, if anybody has one they're using for a doorstop, make a poor man a deal on it!!!

Hook me up!!

WHY??? Screw authenticity. a 350 isnt authentic. Mid as well change to a better fuel setup. even TBI is alot better than crossfire from what ive been told.

It would be expensive, but a hone job would wake up that intake if ya want to keep the crossife set-up.

I saw one completely intact and the ECM wasn't even touched at a junk yard and it looked cool. Two GM 560cfm 2 barrels would be killer to run.

Cross fire IS TBI pard, and guess what, you've been told wrong. You shouldn't comment on what you don't know about.

Any 305 TBI's on this board running 14.5's @ 95mph with just headers and free mods? I didn't think so. My old 305 TBI/CFI did.

83Zman, Get a CFI intake off ebay (spend no more than 100 bux), and port it w/a die grinder. That'll support 300 hp no prob. Ask questions if you want to know more.... from someone that actually HAS one! lol.

Tom,

Good to see you on the board defending the "honor" of the lowly Xfire. I ran a 13.6 with mine in October and its still a 350. With Trax's help, I just found out I did that with 28d of Total Advance too. Some room for improvement. BTW, I have a Xfire manifold base that has been modded by removal of the EGR channel and runner roofs have been ground back 1/2-3/4" inches if you're interested 83ZMan.

Hey Dom, Good to hear from you too. And it's great to see your 13.6 time! That's some real good headway you've made. Nice.

Do you know what happend to the "CFI Vault"? I can't get it to come up any more. It seems I haven't been able to bring it up for a couple months. Any news?

Tom,

Hi. Yeah, not bad. And thanks to ski and Trax, I just realized I did that with only 28d of Total Timing. Guess what changes I am making to the bin file next. Also hoping to get some better traction with the ZR-1/GS Tire and wheel package I bought(315's in the rear). My 60' time is 2.195.
As for the CF vault, its still there. I don't post there anymore but have you tried www.crossfire.webhop.net ?
