Ultimate TBI article
Ultimate TBI article
What happened to the .PDF format that was in the tech articles section? It had some awesome pics for each step in the process of the ridge removals, the AFPR, and the rest? I just happened to have a second TBI and am ready to do the mods but I can't find the article with the pics, only Pablo's text article.

"Remove air silencer ringthat is tack welded around the mouth of the aircleaner that encircles the throttle body. This requires air to enter directly from the top. Removal requires breaking the tack welds. "
Anybody got a picture of this? I'm a little confused

uk89camaro,
I just did this today, maybe 30 min from hood up to hood down. This silencer ring is easy to see, just lift you air cleaner cover and in the center(surrounding the T/B) is a ~1" tall ring(it only sticks up ~1/2" though). It's painted black and part of the air cleaner housing, (not the silver ring below the air filter housing).
I used a screw driver and hammer to start to seperate the ring from the cleaner housing. This will expose where the 4 spot welds are. I then used a dremel to cut a little on 2 of the spots welds that didn't seperate by minimal prying force. Took the hammer and straightened out the inner edge of the air cleaner housing so it fits back in place.
I just used some gasket maker to fill in the 2 holes created by the spot welds getting ripped out. (I'm probably gonna weld them up tomorrow since I don't want/or like the gasket stuff to possibly get sucked into the engine).
Edit: No noticable SOTP difference. 1.6 roller rockers go on tomorrow. Hopefully they'll do better.
