Possible Cam
Ok, guys I just picked up some shorty hooker headers and a high flow cat for cheap now for my engine swap and now I'm really starting to think that I have this '89 longblock out on an engine stand in my garage and it seems like I'd be much better off just to cam it now when its out. It's basically an L98 block with iron heads that will have a valve job, and the full exhaust, as well as I'm thinking about the weiand 7525 to be on top with the 65# injectors, and my rear gear is a 3.42 w/ posi behind the 5-speed.
What is a good cam for this combo if I were to throw one in, I would like one that would either run good with the cop chip in there or one that would be easy to tune in. I looked at possibly the crane 2032 would this be a good option or is it even much of an improvement over the stock L98 cam in '89? Any other cam recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

teh "cop car chip" is bs. it si jsut an LO5 chip. if you wanna use it as a starting point fo ra good chip that is ok, but if you wanna do a cam and only plan to use a stock chip and mechanical adjustments you are gonna be way off unless you pick a super mild cam.

Really? it would be way off with that anlu chip even though the rest of the engine is basically exactly the same engine as the caprice cop cars that the chip came in? I thought it might adapt fairly well to it without much change since its basically what the stock engine for that chip was, how far off are we talking here?
