what in the heck could cause a TBI system to not want to spray fuel at crank and when finally it does decide to it runs perfect until you shut it off and then it wont spray fuel again for a long time when cranking ?

im lost now..

thanks
Could be the ignition module. The ECM fires the injector(s) each time a distributor reference pulse arrives. No DRP, no injector pulse.

Could also be a bad or loose connection in the power feed to the injectors.

i went all through the distributor today, removed it from engine cleaned it out good and put new dielectric grease under the module and so forth, also totally disassembled the TBI and did the raised platform pressure trick, no dice, still does same thing, it will start spraying fuel at crank eventually when it feels like it and runs fine once it does...

wild,..

When you get it idling, disconnect the MAP vacuum. If the car settles down and idles (may die once again, just restart) but if it settles down and idles, albeit a bit high, then its prolly the MAP sensor. Just go to Discount auto parts, ask to try a new MAP sensor and theyll let you use it before you buy it,atleast the guys here did,and sure enough thats what caused the problem.

I would Replace your fuel filter, It could be a going bad fuel pump. I had a tbi jimmy that you had to pour a little gas in the tb to get it started then it would run fine. So i replcaed the fuel pump. and that fixed my problam.
