I downloaded a copy off of Kazaa a while back. It seems to be able to predict a standrd engine design pretty well, but an electronically controlled motor it has a few inconsistancies with.

How can you say it's "WAY more accurate" when it doesn't even calculate the same thing??? Dyno 2000 calculates HP and torque. Dragstrip 2000 calculates 1/8 and 1/4 mile times.

I have it. I don't know how accurate it is though. I had to change a lot of things to get it to match what my car actually ran in the 1/4 mile. From there I made a few changes (gear ratio, stall speed, etc.) and I hope that it gives realistic results.

I doubt it does though. I couldn't grab traction to save my life, but it says I should have had no problems with street tires.

Is it fun to mess with? ...... Yup.
Would I bet the farm on it? ..... Nope. :nono:

So...... I.E. Don't waste your money or time.

Unless you know what you're looking at don't waste your money. Understanding things like lighter car = faster isn't what I'm talking about. It's the whole traction thing. Who's to say that a 4 link suspension is going to act like the f-body's? I haven't seen the software but if it's anything like the dyno software then it's a joke. It's got a lot of useful calculations that it does but it isn't anywhere near simulating actual results. Just a few things different like LCA angle or roll center can make or break the whole system. A classic example with their other software is the power adders in dd2000. Where does the system take into account thermal properties of the heads or chamber efficiency. Vortec heads make 30hp more on that base line performance motor not just because of port flow but also swirl.
Get virtual 4 stroke if you're going to try and get a good idea of what's going to happen else use it to show off with bench racers.
Out of curiosity, to what extent does the drag software go into suspension setup?

Look, my whole intention of starting this topic was so i could find a place to DOWNLOAD it, not find a place to buy it. I have no intention of wasting my money. I have no clue where the whole suspension **** came from, I have no clue how well the program works or how useful it is, thats why i want to DOWNLOAD it, so if anyone knows where i can, let me know please.

You can try www.motionsoftware.com

Sometimes they have a "Sample" version of their programs.
