i want to remove the smog pump and all the pipes on the headers?

i want to remove the smog pump and all the pipes on the headers?

well my new 89 camaro tbi has all the stock emission system.down here in florida he dont have to pass any emissions test so i wanted to remove it. but i have the serpentine system so will i be able to remove the smog pump if then my belt will be to big is there a smaller belt i can get?help me out and will it make a diffrence if i remove the whole system?

You will not feel a difference what so ever, however, the space savings in the engine compartment are nice.

so what you guys mean leave the serpentine system on but i cloud disconnect everything for sapce and the car will run the same right?

wow! the pic on the article is real nice but its very easy to do.will my local auto parts like discount and auto zone have the belt by name or will i need the a 98.6.but what an under drive pulley?do i have that on a stock 89 5.0 tbi?

well i wanna leave the power steering on my car what belt do i get when i remove the smog pump and how will i connect it because the link of the pic was the smug pump and power steering remove help me out?

I just checked the page on this site.

The top pic is the one you need. If you look, the pulley is still there. The one on the bottom is a TPI engine that someone removed the PS pump. Which for some reason, alot of people do. To me, I'd rather lose a little power, then kick my own *** trying to get the car to turn.

The one I posted is right.

Also, the belt size they talked about was right, thats the one you need.

Also, be careful on the torx bolts that hold the pump in, the ones on mine rounded off and I had a hell of a time getting it out. Although I did take alot of pleasure throwing the pump as far as I could.

thanks dude well im off to buy that belt later on monday but i will have lots of fun destroying the gay pump .well i log back on later thanks alot man i go on later on like at 5 pm ok see u later
