edelbrock cam vs. LT1 cam

Do the Edelbrock PerformancePlus cam for the 305 TBI, http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive/cams_chevy.html
have a 0/0 valve lash. I can't tell...I'm a newbie

Is the LT1 cam (.050" tappet lift intake/exhaust is 205/207; and maximum lift with 1.5:1 rocker ratio intake/exhaust is .447/.459. Valve lash is zero/zero and lobe centerline is 116 degrees) more aggressive than the Edelbrock cam...again I'm not sure...I'm a newbie .

I've been told to get a cam with Edelbrock PerformancePlus specs (194/214) instead of the LT1 specs (205/207).

Dude, in my opinion, the edelbrock power package for tbi as a whole is a joke. Mainly because of the cam that come with it, which is the one i'm assuming you are talking about( the link you posted didn't work). Anyways, the LT1 cam works great with 305s and will cost a fraction of the price.

Who told you that? A cam expert, or some one with extensive TBI experience. Cam experts will sell you something that will work with your cars computer. Around here, we make the computer work for us. This is planet TBI, we are the superior race. We rule over our cars and they like it. If they don't like it, we take them out on the street and beat them into submission.
The cam specs on my daily driver are 208/221 and.474/.510 lift
The specs I have on the LT1 are 201/208 dur.
I assume that the reason you are considering changing cams is you would like a little more power. That Edelbrock cam is a waste of time and money.
If you are considering a cam change IMO the LT1 cam is the minimum daily requirement for a LO3. Besides, you can pick up a used one cheap. ($35-$50)
Dont know what your other mods are, but you need headers and a free flowing exhaust if you are going to get any power out of your L03.

The stock TBI cam is intake/exhaust is 179/194; and maximum lift with 1.5:1 rocker ratio intake/exhaust is .350/.384

The edelbrock cam is a flat tappet cam anyways (non-roller) made for trucks that need alot of low end torque.

your really comapiring apples and oranges there. the edelbrock cam in question is a flat tappet while the other is a rolelr cam. The flat tappet cam wont work with the stock roller lifters. I have an edelbrock flat tappet cam in my 350 and with a near stock setup its a very good match. Although it doesnt have much top end power, it has excelent mid range torque. The only roller cam listed there, if im reading it correctly, is the performer rpm HR. I assure you that this will be WAY too much cam for your setup.
