They are suppose to help the air/fuel mix better for a better ratio which then makes it more consistant burn. I heard that the 1/2 inch is good but the 1inch requires throttle cable modification i just got a 1 inch spacer and was wondering if that was true? the injector spacer lifts the spacers higher to make the fuel mix better as well so in combination its suppose to give an increase in hp and mileage.

tbi spacers increase the volume of the intake manifold and injector spacers raise the injectors allowing 15% increase in airflow. If used together they may be good for about 8-10HP, not a big difference but every little does help.

i just installed a 1/2" spacer a few weeks ago and the only problem i had was with the feed fuel line, but that only took about 10 minutes of fondling to get it to finally fit. Any larger than 1/2" inch you will really have a problem with the fuel lines and also the throttle linkage and TV cable.
The injector spacer was the easiest mod i have done to my car to date.

When I put my 1/2 in spacer on I had no problems, but it made for a tight fit with the stock cleaner on, after I went to open element it was fine.

I used a paper clip to extend the top cable 1/4 a inch and it worked my car now redliness at 5600 rpm before it was at 4300 so i gained hp.

dont get too carried away.....there is no way that your car pulls to 5600 right now by just adding a spacer when it only pulled to 4300 before. You dont want people thinking they can just simply add a spacer, bring the engine 600RPMs over redline on a constant occasion, and start breaking stuff.
Im positive that the spacers do add power, but no way does it increaese your power band by 1300RPMs, and by absolutely no means does it increase your redline.
