i am getting a getting a TBI 305 and i was wondering roughly what i would get for gas milage?

 

Auto or 5speed?

 

its a 5 speed out of a formaula 1

 

I have an 88 305 TBI auto and when she was stock with 2.73 gears I would average mid 20's for gas milage and sometimes get 30 mpg on the high way....Now with my mods...headers..3in cat back, open element msd wires and 3.73 gears I am getting 20 mpg giver or take a few around town...(with a heavy foot ) and 25 mpg on the high way...

If it's a stock engine 5-speed with no mods and in perfect tune and the stock 3.08 rear gears you should avg. 20-22 MPG, and 28-31 on the hwy., I have gone as far as 450 miles on a tank @75 mph with the air on before.

 

i dont think mine is perfect but it gives me an idea thanks

 

24 to 25 in the city, 28 to 33 on the freeway (80-86mph.. seems to really shine there.. granted it ain't my fault if you get nailed!)

my friend used to get 13 to 17 in the city and lucky to break 24 on the highway.. then again he drove it like an idiot.

 

I just averaged 29 mpg on a 1400 mile trip. I ran the car hard between 75 and 95 most of the time.
