holley tbi and adaptor?
i found the adaptor id need for my regular tbi performer adn its 139.99 from Summit!! should i get that or just get a new manifold with carb adaptor. the carb adaptor is only 30 bucks and carb intakes are better anyways. also which intake should i get a performer or a holley.

i never knew those could be found so cheap!! I am going with a weiend stealth intake soon.. power band from idle to 8000 rpm....
lt1 cam if its not to hard to install... and might keep my tbi..
i was debating keeping my tbi or going carb until i can buy that 4 barrel tbi from holley and the cammander ecu.. that thing has to be easy to tune or at least easy to take into a performance shop..
i think i will stay tbi and modify my suspension and drivetrain until its time for the 350 and sportmans II's...

where do you get model # 7525?? the weiend stealth intakes in summitt are model #'s (for chevy) wnd-8016, wnd-8018,wnd-8019...
i am buying mine off a friend and from what i am told it is the wnd-8016
if you are getting the wnd-7525 you are getting ahuge single plane... team G. i would be real curious as to how good that works with tbi

ooo... your going to have fun installing the 670 holley with the adapter. I want to wrap my hands around one of the execs necks at holley and squeeze untill no more life is present for marketing some of that stuff as "OEM" replacement.

what is hard about the swap? does the adapter work well with the stock throttle body. i personally dont think i need the 670 with just cam and intake..

the holley tbi has the linkage set up differently then the stock one and there is no connect for the cruise control. The linkage problem can be aleiviated by jsut drilling out the throttle linkage and installing another linkage, such as one for a carbeurator, on the side that the throttle linkage normally would sit so the throttle and tv cable dont bind up with each other. The kicker comes if you use the holley adapter, like i did. The place where the tbi sits on the adapter doesnt sit centered on the intake, instead its offset. This necessitates that you shorten or extend the linkages so that they reach teh tbi. One of the things i noticed immidiatly is that the overall travel of the gas pedal changes. It no longer bottoms out on the floor, but instead transferes the entire load to the cable and throttle shaft. This caused my stock throttle cable to break. I had to install a lokar throttle cable in its place. and trim and recrimp the tv cable to maintain the proper relations. There is also the problem of the fuel lines. They have to be gingerly rebent so taht they align correctly with the tbi. As some people found out, they cant be forced in, or the connector will be stripped out. Again, its realativly easily overcome by installing the lines first before the tbi is bolted down but its still somewhat of a pain. There is also the small (yeah, thats an understatement) issue of how close the tbi sits to the dist and brake vacuum port on the #8 intake runner. Getting my brake booster hooked up and the coil mounted reasonably close to and within reach of the wire harness and distributer took a little creativity. When i got done with it the linkages, vacuum and fuel lines all apeared as though they came stock with the car and it works fine but it was more agrivation then should be neccessary to use the stuff from holley.

Don't go carb or to Holley's 4bbl TBI either, waste of money. Your stock TBI can be modified to easily handle 300hp or you can just buy the Holley 670 unit. Only problem I had with it was the throttle cable but that was just by grinding off one of the arms on the throttle linkage and putting a modified bolt back in it's place. Now when I went to the Projection Intake, which by the way allowed me to rev on up above 5500rpm with ease I had a few more problems and will help dimented24x7 strangle holley's engineers also! There manifold even though designed for the Holley TBI unit had to have a spacer, had to cut fuel lines at engine and replace with braided lines, had to use shorter bolts so the stock ones wouldn't hit pushrods and had to find a EGR valve that would fit on their manifold because Holley didn't know which one to use.
Here is a pic of the Holley TBI side view where I had the cruise
and throttle cable hooked up. I had a much closer up pic but can't find it right now. My cruise had a slight hesitation when first engaging it do to some slack in the line but other than that it worked fine.

Try this to see the picture...type in www.geocities.com/badbird88
then add /tcab.jpg to the address once there and it will take you to the picture...don't ask me why it won't work the normal way.
ok I give up why this dang thing won't show the picture so if you really want to see it or others concerning my Holley TBI with the stock or Holley Projection manifold e-mail me and I will send them. I also have a 5 page word document detailing everything I did on the Projection install...down to the simplest items and steps.

sorry that was a misprint, the intake is idle to 7000 rpm it is the weiend stealth. it is a dual plane and has a nice amount in intake volume... i would like to see some pics of you holley tbi. i am debating going carb or not might just go with the holley tbi and some n2o..
just because a intake can feed air up to 7000 rpm doesn tmean i have to rev that high.. my intake will never be my restriction again!
oh yeah before i forget thanks brodyscamaro intake looks brand new!
