TBI on EBay

Hey I was looking at this TBI on Ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2444657840
and I wanted some opinions on it. I was the high bidder until someone else pushed the price to over $150, is a unit setup like this worth $200+? Thanks.

TB upgrade

I think this would be a much better upgrade!! 2 in bores and bolt your pod on this base.

The first tbi is probably worth 10hp peak.

the first one is overpriced and the second is a holley base, which will need some modifications to work in your car, although its part way done seeing as how they drilled out the wrong way linkage the holley had. IMHO, both are overpriced. The reason *I* believe so is that jsut about all used tbi's are worn around the shaft area and it causes the throttle to stick and bind and jsut generally make things feel sloppy. I wouldnt pay too much money for an improved base if its avoidable.

The first one is worth $10. For 150-200 you can get a complete used Holley 670 or 454 tbi.

The only way it took 30 man hours to do that is if the guy was blind. I just got done completing those same mods to my holley, and though it did take a while, it was no where close to 30 hrs, nor is it worth paying that rediculas price, especially for stock bore size.

i'd have to agree its not worth that amount of money unless you know for a fact what you are getting. so what if it has new seals and gaskets if the bushings for the throttle linkage are worn out then your just wasting money. I'd opt for the 2" holley base, if you have a choice. heck i walked into a junkyard and picked up a used TBI complete for $20 it needed some TLC, before it worked properly.
