cam swap
Hi!
I have got a nice deal on a 97 LT1 cam and wounder what you think of swapping out my comp cam for the LT1.
I am not so pleased whith my cam I think it is a little to big for my combo,it has no low end torque, maybee the LT1 will be better for my combo and what if I put in a 350 instead of my 305 will the LT1 still be a better choice?
I alsoe have a carb performer intake and a 454 TB but havent installed it yet, thinking of getting all together ones for all.
Thanks for your replayes.

the lt1 is probably a better combo for the 305 you have, if you had better heads, i would say stick with the comp. IMHO both cams are pretty small for a 350, if it was my choice, i would stay with the comp for sure on a larger engine. i think you will find that with a larger engine, and better heads you are going to want more in the 220* intake range.

with the 305 you are somewhat limited, the torquer 305's from World. or vortec's are probably your best bet. also 305 TPI heads respond rather well to porting, so porting a set of those out might fit your needs.
