What the easiest way to check timing on my RS?
I am doing a tune up on my new 89 RS and I know that the timing marker is at the 12 oclock position, and all the stuff about bypassing the computer with the tan wire. How hard is it going to be to check and adjust the timing if I can't see the mark? Will I have to look through the water pump gap from the top?

You need to disconnect the wire, get a timing light and point it down at the mark and look where it is on the marker.

I know how to check the timing on a car with my timing light but I am talking about the line-of-sight to the balancer, cause on my 350 the marks are in the normal spot--->the 2 ocolck position and that makes the marks easy to read.

I have to lean way into the engine bay and point the light straight down behind the water pump. It is trickey to do espcially if you keep getting your timing gun wires close to the belt. It is almost better to have two people to do this. One to read the light and the other to work the distributor.
