Well I don't know if you are going to see any real differnece but it all adds up. it will help you get evey last cfm or air into that stock TBI unit. Some have seen track improvements and others just do it for the sake of a few more cfm's. Here is a pic on mine. It is a lot smoother now but I took this pic before I hit it with some sand paper to smooth it all out.

No I didn't touch that part of my TBI unit because I couldn't get anything down in there to grind it off and I didn;'t want to risk damaging the inside walls of the TBI bores. It's not worth it in my opinion and I doubt you woul dsee much gain from the little bit or material that is removed. Nothing like you gain from un-shrouding the top of the unit.

No i don't have the injector spacer. I only did the TBI mods and the vacuum adjustable regulator. I didn't feel much improvement but I knew that as soo as I got my headers on it would help get a little more air in. It is a good mod to do.

Your not going to see a big seat in the pants difference from it but every little bit helps. If you havent installed a open element filter I would install that and do the ultimate tbi mods at the same time then you will see a seat in the pants difference. I noticed a difference just by doing the open element, so add the ultimate tbi mods and youll probably knock off a tenth or so.

As discussed in other threads, the Ultimate mods (rounding the bore leading edges, thinning the throttle shaft) should result in 10% flow improvement (approx 5% for each mod). Since the small 2-bore Rochester TBI flows around 540 cfm, then these mods will result in a gain of around 50 cfm. In terms of power, if you were flowing around 500 cfm (that means if you had the right mods AND had them tuned properly) then you'd have around 300 hp at the flywheel.... so the ultimate mods would gain you 10% extra flow, and thereby 10% extra power (or 30 hp) if you had the ECM retuned to accomodate the extra flow.

The SOTP gains will be much tougher to observe, mostly because of the lack of tuning.

You can use both but your best bet is to get a flat base (non drop base). With this you can get rid of that gold spacer and clear your distributor all in one shot.
