081 castings are 87-92 305 TPI HO centerbolt heads which flow much better than the stock 187 TBI heads. What are the casting numbers on the 350 heads you picked up.

those are swirl port 350 TBI heads and arnt worth too much because they are not performance heads. They will flow better than stock LO3 heads but i would only use them if you were gonig to mill them so you dont lose too much compression

Those heads are garbage. Go back to the bone yard and get some L98 heads or go with a used vortec set. You should be able to find both there.

i really dont understand how milling works and i was planing port the intake and exhaust ports my self i want to just do some pocket porting or maybe port them so they match the exhaust and intake ports what problems would i likely run into?

There is a great tech article on how to port your 305 TPI heads on this site. I suggest to start by reading that and doing a little research on porting in general. If you have no idea what you are doing you can ruin a set of heads in no time. I would read up on milling the heads as well.

15.3 is great for a bone stock LO3. Your posts were just a bit hard to read because they were one big run on. Don't take it personally.

Well, glad to see you took that nicely! I meant no flame by it. Just to let you know there are quite a few members on TGO that won't be as nice about it. Also, in the future there are many better ways to go about letting someone know you dissagree with them. Thanks!
