running like crap

deleted most of AC, AIR installed a set of flowtech shorites and ypipe. Changed wires and plugs. Car runs like crap. Its been in the garage for most of the winter but now it runs like real crap..id rule out bad gas because before i did the tuneup/header install it ran fine..now the motor like shakes and you can feel the whole car shaking. when i rev it it like pauses and then continues revving, like it lags or something..got no lights or codes..its just the ypipe on there now if that means anything..

any ideas? Would rather not hafta take it anywhere...
thanks alot

joe

Check all your plug wires make sure none are disconnected or got burnt from the headers. Did you reinstall the O2 sensor on teh headers?

I agree with Bron. It is easy to get the wires on wrong or have them burn up in a matter of minutes if they are laying on a primary. You didn't damage the knock sensor or anything else did you?

The knock sensor is on the block and is very fragile and can break if it is hurt. The sensor on the passenger side head is the fan switch. You can destroy that and your car will run fine. You may want to data log to see whats goin on. It may be time for a custom chip.

If it is not damaged than it is fine. A knock sensor is just an accelerometer and there is not much to it.

It sounds like you've got a few plug wires crossed up. I had the same problem after the engine swap and I discovered the wires on the #5 and #7 were backwards.
