comp cams xr282hr tuneable with tbi?
Like the subject says. Its going in my 350 .060 over, with ported polished 113s there ported to the max... polished sooo smooth... For intake Im open to suggestion, but i will most likely be going with a single plain..... But is this cam tuneable theres a guy in tampa who does dynotuning and i would be taking the car to him. also i would be getting the holley 670 tbi unit...

O..O...O...O...
specs duration @.050 intake is 230 exhaust duration @.050 is 236 lift with a 1.5 rocker is .510 intake and .520 exhaust. Lobe separation is 110. I know its a shot in the dark. but for the price its not bad..

What is the LSA on that cam. That will be your limiting factor for TBI friendlyness. Also, if those heads are not machined they will not tolerate that much lift.

Itll be really tough, if not impossible jsut using the stock calibration. With that sort of duration and a relativly tight lsa all the tables will probably get bunched up and youll suffer from a lack of resolution. Oh, its doubtful a tuner will be able to get it working right in just a day, and there is also teh issue of fuel. There may or may not be enough fuel available to keep the motor adiquatly fueled. Itll probably depend on what injectors you use and how much pressure your willing to give it. Its possible to get it to work, but its really a task for the more adapt DIY-tuners, and not something to be taken on if its your first time around. Im planning on using an XE-268 or one of the equivelent roller cams in my next tbi project, if I ever get around to it, but an XE-282 would be a bit much if youve never tried to tune an EFI system before.

As for the holley, there are some issues as to what the delphi injectors are rated at. Rumer has it theyre rated at 21 PSI. The standard gm injectors are rated at a lower pressure so for a similarly rated injector you could probably squeeze more fuel out of them when you run a higher fuel pressure. There are also bored out 2.2 in BB tbis available, which would be worth looking at.

Dang... Tuning is definatly something I dont have time to learn or look into... Thats why i was having it dyno tuned... I was gonna get the holley tbi unit and just set the fuel psi at like 16 or so, get the 350 chip drive it 100miles and have them do there thing... but if its going to be like a major project then the tbi is gonna have to go... yikes

I seriously doubt it would even run with jsut a tbi and a cop car chip in it, let alone be drivable. If you dont intend on tuning it yourself, a good carb and non-CC dist. are in order. Theres alot more to tuning then a couple WOT runs on a dyno. You also have all the startup and P/T stuff to do so the car is drivable and at least somewhat easy to live with.

Yeah, more cubes makes teh cam seem less intense. Same reason the puny cam in my 350 is actually a decent performance cam in a 283. At any rate, your cammed 360 should be alot of fun once you get it all together
