Found Dual Snorkel on GMpartsdirect

Hey guys I was looking through GMpartsdirect.com and found a 350 HO Camaro Conversion kit on there that came with a full dual snorkel air cleaner setup, the kit is part #10185077

They list the following parts in the kit:

1 LH Duct 14070917
1 RH Duct 14070918
4 Screw 11513801
1 LH Hose 14073299
1 RH Hose 14083990
1 Air Cleaner Assy. 25043641
1 Nut, Wing 25512090
1 Hot Air Tube 469506
1 Fresh Air Elbow 3970070

Some of you guys might want to look into that if you're interested.

Also, they have the standard 350 HO 330HP crate engine for sale for $2280, I think that's the lowest it's been in a while, but I could be wrong.

(ps had to write this twice because it didn't post the first time, grr)

I was just eyeballing that engine. However I managed to score me a 350 block from our junkyard for $100 which will be used in a rebuild.

Did you happen to look at the price? $4500.00!!!

It's a complete engine. It's the only way you can get the dual snorkel from GM. I talked to them about that 2 years ago when I was looking for mine.

teh dual snorkel has not shown to be the huge gain that it sounds liek it shoudl be. i woudln't worry about it. jsut use a plain old open element for less that 1/4 the price and get the same gain.
i always got my best times at the track when runnign no filter at all.

Well yeah to be honest with you guys I never plan or have planned on getting it, I just ran across that engine combo and figured since there are always so many questions on this board about the dual snorkel, I'd post it. Makes me wonder how they don't have teh individual parts if they sell it in a package like that.

I would never shell out the bucks for that anyways, I refuse to get a K&N for my open element. I think people worry too much about the little things like that and not the stuff that's going to actually net some horsepower.

Just thought it'd be a help to the guys that have been scouring junkyards looking for it.

when gm originally was designing the L69 cars(HO 305) they actually had a different version of the hood that did not have any bracing in front of where the scoops are and had a small piece of molding to seal the hood to teh duct work. in that format the system is an excellant design, but you put in a stamping that blocks half teh air flow and leave space for the rest of the air to pass around the scoop then you have the resulting ineffective system.
