Good time, especially with that '60. If you really think there is an LT1 cam in there, then some chip tuning may do wonders.
Also, I'm near joliet IL. I should make it up to Byron sometime this year, and am headed down to visit a buddy in st louis in about a month, and plan on making it out to gateway. Hope to see ya guys.
89305RS-I should have the 383/ T-56 combo back together by july-hoping for a low 12-high 11, but it all depends on if I can get the 12 bolt in there by then.

what is interesting, is how low your trap speed is. i was running the just a hair faster ET, but my MPH was in the 90 range, and i had better 60'. you may want to look into where you trap speed is going, it is possible you are either, shifting too early, or are lossing power up high. i was guess with the LT1 cam in the car, you should be trapping above 87mph.

2.73 gears dont make for a very high trap speed. Or a great 60' time either. Today the 3.23 posi rear goes in
Thatll bring a good 60' and trap. Im guessing with the new gears a 14.7 hopefully. The car shifts at 5000 in 1st and 4800 in second. Im really looking forward to geeting the rear in tonight!! Well see what it does friday!! Plus its posi so ill have a great 60' the peg leg 2.73 in there now wouldnt even squeal the tire off the line. I HATE 2.73s!!!!!!
the guy that i bought the car from (mtchevy1) said the car had the LT-1 cam.

I dont think that those gears are gonna knock .9 off your times. I would say like .3. Youll probably be running around a 15.3 or 15.4. Good times for an auto Lo3 though. Keep us posted.

I went from a 3.08 to a 3.42 in my S-10 and dropped from a 16.1 to a 15.0 so i bet it does.

The funniest thing was that there were like 4 irocs running 16.0-16.2. They were like WTF?? I was laughing at them. I think they were 305s though.

Generally, gears won't help trap speed too much, but will improve ets. I think .9 seconds is a little unrealistic in an f-body, but with a stall, I think .5 is a good estimate.
Also, are you sure your tach is correct? Factory tachs suck, and often read higher than actual rpm. Also, with an LT1 cam, you'll want to manually shift at a higher rpm- I think 5,500rpm outta first, and 5,300rpm outta second would be a good starting point

r90camarors, I have an autometer tach along with my stocker. They both read dead on the same. My tach is accurate. But my s-10s tach was off like 300-400 rpms. Factory sucks. Im having problems geting the old rear out of the car. 20 years of rust make it hell pulling that thing out. Any ideas on how to get it out would be appreciated!
saturate the bolts with a PB blaster or WD40 and then tapping it w/ a hammer, if the dont work you could try heating the bolts up with a torch. when all else fails you could just grind the bolt heads off or torch em off.
