torkerII with LT1 cam?

i have an LT1 cam and i have a chance to get ahold of an edelbrock torker II intake manifold really cheap. i can also get ahold f an edelbrock torker1 pretty cheap is this a good combination to use or is the cam big enough to match the intake manifold

Normally I would say no since single plain Torker intakes are best suited for high RPM applications. However, Dewey has been having great luck with his single plane and cam choice. He also is running the stock heads which really leaves out some HP in his high RPM parts selection. He will fill you in.

i was planning on getting heads off of a rear end smashed 85 TPI trans am at a local scrap yard. they look good so far and i have some tools to do valve jobs and stuff. a guy i know will level and make sure they are true for like 60 dollars and mill them down for about 100 dollars. i would have to talk to him about clearancing the guides for a big cam. i got the lt1 cam free if that will not work with the intake i will just have to buy another cam that will work better with the intake.

I would highly suggest matching the intake to the cam, not the other way around. The intake isn't what determines engine vacuum, idle quality, etc. Why sacrifice a cam so you can use an older technology intake.

You need chip work. It is the only way to get rid of these ranodm drivabilty problems. Remember your car does not like any cam with the stock chip that is different than the stocker.

doesnt work that way man, "stage 2" doesnt mean anything. Chips have to be custom tailored to your engine setup to run right.
