Another Cam question

Another Cam question

well here it goes. I bought a 91 tbi bird a couple months ago off my friend (he had a little accident). Well i have most of the body fixed and am starting to make plans for the motor for next summer. He blew the motor in it and replaced it with a tpi one but kept the tbi so the wire harness wouldn't have to be messed with. anyway heres is the motor specs:

TPI block and heads
350 injectors
Chip
Open element
Soon to have headers

Now my question is how much of a difference is there between the tpi cam i have now and the lt1 cam. Ive read about the differences with using the tbi block but nothing about tpi. Would the lt1 cam be an improvement or should i use wats in there now?

It depends what TPI cam it was. The only really decent TPI cams were the L98 cams and the G92 305 TPI cams (same ones IIRC). The LT1 is a bit bigger and perfect for stock heads. Anything bigger and you will have to have some seat work done to the heads. I would do this now while the motor is apart. Just get ready for chip work.
