L05 problems PLEASE HELP

ok my dad has an L05 TBI 350. i dont want to break borad rules and mention what its in but its not a car and its ALL stock. it has 205k miles on it and had sat for 7 years previous to when he picked it up last year. hes had it just under a year and drives it several times a week.

friday night he went to pick up a trailer with it. he left the neighborhood and as he was leaving it had a real bad stumble that felt like it would die. he let off and it went back to normal. drove across town and parked to get the trailer with it running. when he got out it died. started it back up and it wouldnt idle unless he kept givving it small amounts of gas. if he gave it too much gas it would die and same if he didnt give it enough.

hes replaced:
fuel filter
fuel pump
EGR valve
dist. (dont ask cuz i dunno???)
cap
rotor
MAP sensor

plugs and wires were replaced earlier this year. it ran fine last week and the problems only started friday.

what else could it be? also what size are the injectors?

its an 88 model 350 BTW.

How old is the 02? The 02 should be changed as frequently as plugs (50,000 to 70,000) or so. I would still check the feed line pressure to outrule a fuel problem. Even replacement pumps can fail.

hes going to be checking the line pressure as soon as he gets the "t" fitting. the 02 was just replaced a few months ago. he hasnt even put 10k miles on the truck since he got it.

i think its set at the factory 0* because i tried to get him to up it for a couple more ponies but he didnt.

i forgot to mention before that he changed the map because it would idle fine with the old MAP in it but with the vaccuum line DISCONNECTED. so we picked up another one. installed it and it did the same thing (barely idled) with the line connected. if you unhooked it, it would run real rough compared to with the old MAP. im thinkin about putting the MAP from my 91 TPI setup on it. any problems with that?

You might want to check the TPS sensor. I had one go bad and envoke power enrichment mode any time I tapped the throttle. It was bad really bad. I was in the middle of a parade with the car stalling out every 10-15 feet and chirping the tires evertime I restarted it.

well he hooked up an inline pressure gauge and it didnt even register. my gauge starts at 10 psi so its less than that. it will start and run very rough now but dies after a couple seconds. could it be possible he had a bad pump originally and just got another bad one? he was also told to get a stock GM pump but of course that came from the same person that told him to replace the dist....

You need at least 10 to 15 psi in the feed line. I would stop asking that guy for help/parts.
