runnin like doodoo

hey guys, quick question....ever since i put on my vafpr...well change my mind...ever since i put in my new egr vavle which went out a couple days after i put my vafpr in, my car hasn't been runnin well. sometimes when i put it in reverse, it dies, and it tends to sputter a little in first mostly, but only in closed loop. could it be my vafpr, cuzz when my egr went out, i lowered the pressure from 11 psi at idle to about 9 or 10 and havn't brought it back up.

Try increasing the pressure or putting the stock regulator back on. Do you have a delay valve in your vacuum feed line?

It should look like this when it is set-up. You can route the vacuum line anyway you want.

okay i checked it, it is in the right direction...if i were to just plug the vacuum, would i be running 15 psi constantly throughout the the rpm range, cuzz thats what its set for at wot, and the vacuum at idle pulls on the pressure regulating diaphram, lowering the psi, am i correct?

How does the car run with the stock regulator? What other mods do you have? Don't plug the vacuum line. I am not sure if it will hold 15 at idle but if it did that is too much. Now that I look back, a regular adjustable regulator would have been better. Proper fueling can be accomplished with chip work. I only got my vacuum unit as a crutch or band-aid for the mods I had at the time.

right, i know 15s too much, i was thinking of lowering it to 12 psi or so, without vacuum, but that would be close to stock regulator psi wouldn't it? with the stock regulator it runs rich as hell, i thought maybe a vafpr would help me out with that. the only mods i have is tranny mods, hypertech thermomaster chip, 160 thermostat, open element with K&N, hypertech fan switch, smog delete, ultimate tbi mods, strait pipe for cat, and flomaster 80 series

Put the stock chip back in. Chances are that hypertech is causing your rich condition. Hypertech chips are garabge and do nothing more than add fuel and a bit of timing where it is not needed.

Yes. But you may not need the vafpr right now. Your stocker may suffice. Start with the chip and go from there.
