Tbi Powerplate

Anyone used one? They're claiming somehwere between 10-15 horsepower increase. The fact that its a money back garuntee is intriguing as well... Any ideas?

I'm probably going to get one of their throttle bodies anyway.

I read all the articles on that site and it seems that those guys really did some mad airflow research. I am real tempted to pick up one of those spacers however I am kinda erie on if it will fit under my hood. I do have a drop base aircleaner though so it might go in no problem.

I don't see how it would effect emmisions at all. and it is a 15min job to take back off for inspection

the spacers do seem to give you a little something. The added plenum volume from it is likely where the benifits come from. I had a cheapy spacer on my car when i had the stock intake on. I have no before/after numbers. but my car did go 15.1@92mph with a spacer, headers, 3.42's, and computer work, nothing else was done to it.

I would say its worth it...cant find the price on there but it cant be that pricey, not to mention money back garentee.

Dewey:15.1 aint bad with those little mods, Ive heard headers are the best bolt on when it comes to power gains for TBIs.

The spacer will probably have little effect other then raising the tbi, which can cause problems sometimes. I doubt it would add 15 HP but it does increase the plenum volume a bit and allow for some sharing of the bores.

Actually now that I read into it a little bit it does make a lot of sense on how it would increase power... I would LOVE to see some dyno numbers on that thing... If anyone decideds to get this thing PLEASE let us know! If not, after I figure out whats wrong with my transmission, I just might...

I can only see a spacer adding power when you have a nice cam and heads. Otherwise the stock cam is so lame the stock intake can feed it for the time being. A little more plenum volume may help but I doubt you will notice anything on the stock set-up. Although I have no before and after track times, the butt dyno felt nothing when I added a spacer over 4 years ago. I do one day hope to dispell this spacer myth. In the next year or so I should be getting another TBI car to play with from scratch and hope to put to rest many issues people have. I think it is possible for one to see some slight gains only after they have a heads and cammed set-up with the proper tuning.

That would be awesome. I'm sure that would be a future TGO TBI sticky.

Shifty... car all fixed up now? (or was that accident way long ago?)

If you would have gone to the online cat. you would have found the price! $83.95 +S&H sounds a little pricey to me!

Yeah, I said a little pricey but look at it this way, if it really would add at least 15 hp. to a 305 for about 90 bucks (incl. S&H ), would it be worth it? People pay more and do a lot more work installing headders for about the same power gains (15-20hp)
because they know it will improve power! Fact is, we don't have a positive testimonial on the intallation of the plate yet. If someone has installed one and said definate improvement, I'd have the money in the mail tomorrow!

Id have to see independant dyno graphs with several runs back to back showing the 10-15 HP increase from using the spacer. With all those adds 20 hp garbage bolt-ons sitting around on autopart store counters I have a hard time believing any of that unless I see conclusive results. I imagine that it may help, but those are pretty large increases theyre claiming just from adding a little more plenum volume and allowing the bores to be shared a bit.

You know what they say. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Looking at their catalog their prices are just astronomical. 300 dollars for a warmed over stock prom, 75 something for a regulator, YIKES!!!
