Your welcome.

I think most of the info in there is accurate. The only ones ive had hands-on experience with is the edelbrock stock style performer carb intakes. At any rate, the intakes there shoudl be fine for most of the mild mods that people want to do.

I think so. I'm going to try the Performer TBI intake for a couple reasons... the main one being a modest HP goal with another one being a draconian smog law. I'm really afraid to fail that sucker.

The reading supports that the Performer TBI is an improvement over stock.

The tbi one seems to have a larger plenum then the stock tbi intake so in that regard it should be an improvement over stock. Its not going to flow like hell, thats for sure, but the smog ***** wont fail you for having it like they would for other intakes.

Yup. And since it is basically visually the same as the stocker you could paint it black and no smog tech would ever know.

At the risk of sounding like an idiot, what is rtv? The sticky says to use it on the front and back of the intake but I've never heard of it before.

It is generally a silicone sealant that comes in a little (or big) tube that can be used in place of gaskets, or to help seal gaskets. It squeezes out in a gel-like form and after a short time, hardens to a rubber-like state.

Good to know, thanks. I'll have to find some of that, don't want to install my intake then have a massive vacuum leak.

When they say RTV the front and rear china walls, they refer to keeping the oil in the lifter valley, not really an area for a vacuum leak. RTV for vacuum leaks would be a tiny bead around the intake ports, and thats a tiny bead.
