Doward says a 3.1 v6 is faster than an L03 V8 stock versus stock, that true?

No. Think about. The LO3 was a performance upgrade over the base bare bones options.

i Know there's a post called "Doward says a 3.1 v6 is faster than an L03 V8 stock versus stock, that true?" And i read it and they say the v6 is faster like I say a "v6 is a wet match in a dark cave compared to the v8's"

Umm my friend has a 91 RS with the V6 and I have a 90 RS with the L03.

Not an ice cube's chance in hell the V6 is faster. His car almost feels like my Friend's 4-cyl Mustang. I'm not saying they are pathetic with slight mods, but stock, nothing to brag about and there is no way he could ever beat me unless I had two broken feet and no arms.

The L03 isn't a performance revolution and it wasn't meant to be, but it IS faster than a V6.

A few minor modifications to the L03 and you have an engine that is doing around 300ftlbs of torque. The V6 would need a lot of work to do that. That being said, maybe the guy in the L03 was dumb and didn't let his tire(s) get any traction. I know when i lay on my car in winter my one leg spins like there's no tomorrow, even when i'm moving.

I believe it.

I've heard stories about 5 speed 3.1's beating auto LO3's. Remember a stock auto LO3's comes with 2.73 gears, while 5 speed 3.1's come stock with 3.42 gears.

Now if you put 3.42's in your LO3, the 3.1 doesn't stand a chance in hell.

Why is this thread still alive? This is the stupidest topic I've heard in a long time and it's come up not once but twice! Please just let it die and don't reply.

Not even as stupid as all those dumb "open element" threads that come up constantly.

my modded 3.1 runs equally as fast as my 305tbi, it is possible for a v6 to take the 305, just depends on the car

Get over it already....

Stock for Stock, Mod for Mod, Driver for Driver.... the lo3 is the nicer peice of **** out of the two.

Sure it's possible, just as possible as a 3 cyl Ford Festiva to kill your v6.... but that would still just be another peice of crap.

Besides, the LO3 car has a greater potential for a lot less money.

I don't want this to turn into a flame war. In this day and age anything can happen. A 3cly geo could beat a vette if the proper circumstances are met. That doesn't prove anything though. Same with the LO3 and V6 debate. If both cars rolled off the showroom today the L03 would win every race. Age, mileage and poor maintenance allows v6 victories over the LO3.
