idle adjustment

hey guys, thanks for stopping in.

My 92 RS is idling a little high, and I was wondering how to adjust it, not looked very close, but i'm used to carbs. Thanks for the help,
Kyle

Check for vacuum leaks around the base of the TBI unit. Also, look for cracks in the vacuum lines that run out of the unit.

Where exactly is it idling at, 1000 RPM, 1500 RPM, etc.? Just asking because it is not uncommon for the stock tachometer in these cars to go bad and read too high. Mine does it, along with countless others.

I can tel it is idling to high by the sound of the engine, the tach is off a v6, so its way off, but by ear, it sounds close to 1700-2000. thanks

if one of the pins of the IAC gets fubared, it will cause it to idle really high. But a vacume leak would be the where I would start looking.

My take away here is that the EFI is responsible for the idle. Vacuum leaks or troubled IAC is likely the cause if the car idles high at operating temperature.

Is that accurate?

Sincerely,

Master of the Obvious
