LTI Cam set

THIS ROLLER KIT IS FOR 92-97 350 LT1,INCLUDES:

16 ROLLER LIFTERS,

16 ROCKER ARMS

16 PUSHRODS

16 ROCKER NUTS

16 ROCKER SPACERS

8 KEEPERS

1 SPIDER TRAY

3 SPIDER TRAY BOLTS

1 THRUST PLATE

2 THRUST PLATE BOLTS

1 LT1 CAM

ALL PARTS ARE USED WITH 30K OR LESS

I saw this on the good ole e-bay and was wondering if it was actually worth 250 bucks? cuz if it is, im gunna get it. Well, im gunna get it if it will work with my 1994 LO5. I have 083 cast heads too, not the stock swirlies. Cuz if the lt1 parts dont fit, no point in buying em.

I would only buy that kit if you were doing a roller conversion. Assuming your new motor is in good shape you already have those parts and do not need them. You would be swaping out for the same parts you already have. I would just buy a $30 LT1 cam and skip all of that other stuff.

That LO5 is a flat tappet motor? I thought those LO5 crate engines were roller.

Well what kind of car is it out of? Or is it a crate engine? It may very well be a flat tappet motor, I'm just asking.

trucks were flat tappet up to 95 or 96 i think. The LO5 in caprice, ect was roller. Ive got the same problem with mine, its from an 88 truck.

Do you have a link? GM sells two shortblocks similar to what you bought.

That should definitely be a roller motor. They don't specifically say that, but caprices of those years were roller and it has the centerbolt valve covers. You could always look for the casting number on the block too if you wanted to know for absolutely sure.

Just re-sell them. There are always people wanting to do roller conversions.

well, i need the cam still, haha, but ill probably keep the other stuff around for when i do another build... that guy sells LT1 kits like that ALL THE TIME, he had 4 for sale when i got mine. now i just need some full roller rockers and some new springs and ill be set. aside from the work on my heads... gotta get a die grinder and print out SittingBull 's guide before that adventure gets underway though...

Get steel not aluminum. They're better in almost every way.

aluminum are **** to crack at high lifts, you have the same heads as i do altho im ditching them for heads that well be abile to take more lift , a safe lift should be .460 and the max lift on are 083's are .480

well, either way... the 1.6 are going to be too big, mine is a 94-95 LT1 and with 1.6 rockers it has .480/.491... damn... 1.5's it is... is there any way i can modify them to take more lift? id planned on getting the screw type rocker shafts to replace the pressed ones and of course new springs...
