Is this a good idea?

Look at the bottom of the page where he grounds the throttle shafts to 50%, i am new to TBIs and have never seen this before.

Welcome aboard!

Shaving the shafts can help if your looking for every last cfm, but it can also compromise the strenth of the shaft if you go over board. Easier way to gain alot more cfm is with a larger tbi, but the present one is fine for your stock 305.

I'd reccomend full exhaust before i touched the throttle body.
