I just installed this intake on my 91RS. First of all you have to hone out the EGR port to make your stock EGR valve work.
If you have S-belts and A/C you have to drill and tap the intake for an accessory bracket.

My mods are , OPEN Element K&N with Xtream top, Hypertech stage 2 chip, high flow cat, and a flowmaster dual chamber muffler.
I noticed a good gain after 3000rpm. and the exhaust note on acceleration sounds alot better. the engine revs easier. but there seams to be a slight loss on the bottom end. Maybe its another problem, not just the in intake. I think the chip wasnt worth jack. I want to have Turbo city burn me a chip. those guys have TBI DOWN!!!!!!

will the non-egr intake work with egr heads?

thanks,

BTW, with the RPM, where did your power come in, low, mid or high range, and what rpms is it turning?

what type of gains did you see?

thanks, Kyle

Don't bother with any over the counter chip. They do know their stuff but cannot know what your car needs without looking at a live data streem via WD02 and datalogging. It is like mail order surgery. Sure the Doc is a pro but he can't do anything until he has you on the table.

Also, I have a Helix TB spacer, will this still work with the performer?

the rpm adds a whole lot more power than just the plain performer. and i intalled mine at the exact same time i installed my lt1 cam so it made huge gaine throughout the rpm range. also i think the rpm makes power from 1500 to 6500 rpm's
and i have a 92 model with regular heads and i am noit using the egr and i have had no problems as of yet, and i have had this combo for over 2 years!, but i nned to start burning my own chips!

I don't really want to have to use an adapter, I just put a TB spacer, and I'm afraid If I have an adapter, hood clearnce will be an issuse.

Any solution to this?

well the performer is a carb intake as well or do you mean the performer tbi intake? also if you use a drop base cleaner and a 2 or 2.5" filter you should be ok with the performer rpm

I want the performer RPM, but I got a 3 inch K&N with the drop, and 1inch throttle body spacer, will the RPM work with an adapter? how close will I be to the hood, is there any bracing under the insulation that can be cut for room?

My experience with the RPM intake shows that it's tight with just an adapter. The thinner you can get the better. My bro is running the GM vorte intake with just a carb and he has to run a 2" filter in his drop base to clear the hood. The RPM is taller than the GM intake, but a TB is shorter than a carb, but again the adapter plate makes up for most of this.

Come to think of it I don't know of any one with an actuall Performer RPM and a stock hood. If you have it post up and let us know.

Ok, I'll let you know IF i get one, I might have to cut out the insulation and bracing, Might also need 2in filter.
