Why are you running 100?

with that much octane, you may need to advance it that far, because the burn is so slow. If you do advance it 10-12*, as soon as you put anything short of 100 in, you should drop it back down.

There is no need for 100 octane in your car. I would run 4° advance with 89 octane. You may even be able to get away with 87 with 2° advance.

Make sure you unplug the EST before you set the base.

Must be something in that Oregon gas I never could run 87 with 4° without some slight audible ping.

The reason im running 100 is that I bracket race this car on wedsday nights. and it is wedsday. It runs smother and revs easier, and gets 1-2tehths quicker. Depending on the outside temp.

I was running a hypertech street runner chip. It would set the timing(computer controled) at 8*. Thats with 0*base with the EST unpluged. Now I have the stock chip back in, EST unpluged im at 8*, and with it pluged back in im at 12*

This is just a test anywho if I dont see any better numbers on tthe time slip im going back to the hypertech chip.

I was running 10*and 91 octane on my 10.3:1 compression 350 TBI without any knock counts to speak of. That is what my engine liked the most.

the numbers dont lie my average 60foot was a 2.10 thats 2 tenths better than my usual average. and my mph went up by 1.7mph average. so the moral of the story is..... that hypertech chip sucks monkey $&%$^&%
My best 1/8 was a 10.128 after I get my 3.73 and slicks i should be hitting 2.0 or better on the 60, so i should be looking at low 15 or high 14 consistant.
