TBI noise, normal?

When accelerating (hard or soft), I hear a rapid tapping (like a water sprinkler). I think its comeing from the throtle body injectors. Someone told me its the spedomiter cable. At any rate, this is my first ThirdGen. and I want to make shure its normal. I can hear it when I drive, about as loud as someone taping a pencil on the dash. Any feedback would be great here.

THANKS!!

Welcome aboard. It's just the injectors making the noise, they just do that. Gotta pretty much accept it as normal operation. Don't worry, nothings wrong with it

I don't know...

My tbi is so QUITE it is scary. No tapping or anything that can be heard inside the car and is very quite outside. Maybe you want to check with the dealership. But I also only have 85,000 miles on a one owner garage kept car so maybe that matters.

Correctomundo. Do you happen to have an open element? If so that would explain the noise you hear. The stock air box actually does a great job of dampening out injector and normal TBI noises.

No, its the stock air intake. Sometimes its loud, and other times its not. Have not found a pattern related to driveing conditions.
