Got my first mod done (open element)

Nothing big really, just felt like sharing and my wife doesn't care.

Best part is a guy at work told me had one sitting in his garage and it turned out to be a 14X3 non-drop base that he gave me for free, dirty air filter included. Installed it in about 1 minute, I'm surprised this install gets disscussed so much.
1st gear is almost uncontrollable and I spun it all the way through third. I think I got about 30 hp, would have been 50hp if I bought it new and got the stickers.
But seriously the throttle response seems a little better and it might feel a little stronger up top, but mostly it just sounds a lot healthier. The intake noise is very audible and the exhaust sounds a little deeper. Best 0 dollar mod I ever made.

Congrats on your first mod! Modding these cars is quite simple.

Now add a catback or muffler or high flow cat.

Can you hook on that K&N "Xtreme Flo" top to the setup?

Oh yeah. That was the first mod I did to my T/A, too. Second day I owned it.

Thanks guys, I guess it's really the 2nd mod, the previous owner put an Edelbrock cat-back on. Next I'm going to play with the timing a bit. I saw those K&N tops, it might help down the road, but I'm sure this open element flows more than I can use for now. I probably won't do anything else that costs $$$ until I decide whether I'm shipping the car or selling it when I transfer in 6 months. If I keep it swapping in a T-5, and doing the suspension and brakes will come before more power. At that point it depends upon what class I want to run in (SoloII) as to wether I go 350 or keep the 305.

Oh I've had the fever bad for a long time. Just in the 5 years I've been married I've had 14 cars and two motorcycles. I don't even want to think about pre-wife
